option to keep zero at begining of number
 

I want to enter ID numbers but to keep the numbers compatible with other
programs that it will be imported into I need the zero at the front, how can
I do this?

option to keep zero at begining of number
 

You could format as text if you wanted or go 'format'...'cells'....'custom'
and in the little window above 'Type:' enter a number of zeros that is one
more than your longest id number.
