How do I get files to open quicker
 

In excel, word or access 2003, I click on the program icon and it opens very
quickly, then I open a file from within the program and it also opens
quickly. However, when not in the program and I double click on a file, it
takes forever to load the program and file together.

Any and all ideas appreciated.
