Just as you'll find over at Contextures:
http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqApp.html#LostPassword

There are many tools available on the internet to do this, some free, some
for sale, search for "excel password" or "unlock excel password" with your
favorite search tool and you'll find many hits.

If the worksheet's password was less than 6 characters, then Ultimate Zip
Cracker ( http://www.vdgsoftware.com/uzc.html )trial version will reveal a
password that will unlock the sheet. It won't be the original, but will be
one that works. It is a good program, I own the full version myself.

Use caution on these, I notice that there are many warez (stolen software
offering) sites that claim to have the full version. I would only warn you
that such sites are often the source of rather serious viruses and trojans
along with the "free" version of the stolen programs.

If you trust me with the file, you could send it as an attachment to an
email and I would use my legitimate copy of UZC (I also have other tools) to
unlock it and return it to you. jlatham @ jlathamsite.com (remove the
