Updating or merging files, same file, they were updated independan

I accidentally was entering data into two different files. The same file,
but one on my desktop, one saved on my C driive so although the data should
all be in the same file, some was saved in desktop, and some on the C file.
Is there a way to merge the data in these Excel file, or some way show the
taxt differences between the two files? Without corrupting the data.

hi Vanessa,

without more detail, here is a possible solution to a possible
scenario that might get you thinking,

suppose you have two worksheets in two workbooks,

1) normalize the format of the data on the two spreadsheets, ie make
them of the same structure or layout, then

2) if the data is static copy and paste each worksheet into different
worksheets of a third workbook, or hyperlink them if the data is not
static

3) make the each corresponding cell on the third worksheet the
difference of each cell in the first two
