Alt+enter to carriage return within a cell does not work...?
 

Alt+enter to carriage return within a cell does not work...? Is there
something wrong with my computer or is there an option somewhere that could
be turned off?

Is the cell in Edit mode? That is, can you see the X & checkmark in the
formula bar? Simply typing alt/enter when not in Edit mode will do nothing.

I actually just fitured out what happened. My 2-year-old knocked a couple of
keys off the keyboard, and when we put them back, we mixed up a couple of
keys. Duh! Thank you for responding anyway.
