I need finer (thinner) borders
Is there a way to make the borders finer so that they look as they do when
you opt to "print gridlines" without specifying each cell's border style? In the "borders" selection, the finest line is too heavy for my form, but I can't merely choose "print gridlines" because I don't want all gridlines to print. (I'm using Excel 2002.) |

Hi QDE,
You can't make them any finer than the options in borders in the formatting dialog box but you can drop the color down to Gray-10% which will make them very pale. HTH Martin |

I should also mention that the standard color palette only
offers Gray-25% as it lightest shade. To get it paler you have to go to ToolsOptionsColor tab click on a color patch and click on the modify button. HTH Martin |

Martin, thanks for your suggestion, but the effect was still too "heavy." I
kept pondering this and found that I can specify white borders where I don't want the gridlines to print and that worked, since in this instance I'm printing on white stock. I do appreciate your taking the time to respond. Now maybe you can help me with another problem that I'll put in a separate post!
