I have 11 deposit items and 6 of them equal $3854.12 but how do I find out
which 6 deposits equal the $3854.12. Thanks for your help. |

set up Solver.
In a range parallel to your deposits (assuming your deposits are in C5:C50 for this example), say D5:D50, leave them temporarily blank. in E5:E50 put =D5*C5 and fill down. Put =SUM(E5:E50) in cell E51. Use solver to make D5:D50 be integer, =0, <=1, and use Set value of E51 to be 3854.12. When Solver finishes, you'll have 1's in D5:D50 which correspond to the deposits totalling your desired amount. Bob Umlas Excel MVP "marianne" wrote in message ...
