Straight Text Displays as a series of #######

Hi - I have a problem that seems somewhat random, but is very tanacious when
it occurs. I have entered the following text into a cell:

"5=yes, and affects all other screens without any re-key required.
4=Yes, but some manual re-keying of data required.
3= Yes, but only affects current screen. All other screens must be manually
re-keyed.
2=Only the Regional Manager can reschedule a move-in
1=NO, Must call support to reverse a move-in."

Minus the quotation marks. The cell is set to type "Text" and Wrap is turned
on. However the text displays as a long series of ######################

In another nearby cell I have the following text inserted under identical
conditions:

"4=Yes, When move-in is committed, billing cycle is automatically completed
including invoice generation.
3=Yes, but invoice not automatically generated.
2=Yes, but further manual date entry required.
1=No."

This text displays exactly as it should?

I am running Office 2003 under Windows XP.

Excel has a problem with Text formatted cells when number of characters is
between 255 and 1024.

Re-format to General and your #####'s will go away.
