sheet is not protected. i can create the button...assign the macro to
it clicking the button executes the macro perfectly...but i CAN NOT
change the text in the button.... it says "CommandButton1". I want it
to say "Generate Next PO".

other people may need to use this spreadsheet... they'll need to know
the function of the button....thanx for taking the time to help me plow
thru this!

Choose ViewToolbarsControl Toolbox
Click the Design Mode button
Select the CommandButton1, and click the Properties button on the
Control toolbox
In the Caption box, type "Generate Next PO"
Close the Properties window
Click the Exit Design Mode button

I think I have found it.

Rightclick on button go to prioridades (sorry, I have the Spanish
Excel) put your name under "Caption" and you have named the button.

Regards,
Bob
