Excel Service error "cannot connect to external data source"
 

Hi,

I am trying to publish my pivot table which it is sourced from Analysis
Service 2005 cube by using Excel Serivce based on SP 2007.

I have set up the trusted site in SP2007 where I am publishing the pivot
table and I have also set up the
"Excel Services Trusted Data Connection Libraries" for Pivot table (i.e.
Analysis Service Cube Connection) in SP 2007.

When I am publishing the pivot table, Web broswer shows error message saying
that they cannot connect to External data source and therefore cannot refresh
the data. Web browser shows the static pivot table but I cannot refresh the
data.

would you have any information that I might be doing something wrong here?

Jooho,
Check that your application log event error is the "Excel Services cannot
use credential delegation...".
You have the same error as many of us and we are all awaiting some guidance
as to whether Single Sign-on or Kerberos must be used and how to do it.
Hope that anyone who gets a solution will post it for all of us.
