Why is one cell showing numbers in blue and how do I change that?
In a large spreadsheet I have one cell in one column that shows up blue with
an underline beneath the number. I do not think that number is included in my sum. I have tried several ways but have been unable to change it to a normal number. Does anybody know how I can change this? |

This may be a hyperlink. Does th ecrsor change to a hand when moved over the
cell? If so, click Insert/Hyperlink. Then click the Remove Hyperlink button. Wow...that was quick! However, maybe I did not give you enough info. (I'm
kind of like the first grader here with Excel). When you said to check conditional format I had deleted the "blue number", kept the cell selected and clicked on conditional format and did not understand anything in that little window. When I put the number back in (it always comes up blue) the unconditional format is not available to click on, as is the hyperlink which was suggested by another person. Am I making sense? Sounds like someone has made a hyperlink in that cell.
When you point to it does the cursor turn into a hand? What happens when you click on it? If it is a hyperlink, right-click on it and "Remove hyperlink" Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Wed, 16 Aug 2006 11:16:43 -0700, Echogrammy wrote: In a large spreadsheet I have one cell in one column that shows up blue with an underline beneath the number.
