Cannot empty the clipboard

I turned off the clipboard a while back and now every time I try copy
something or move the contents of a cell I get the message "Cannot empty the
clipboard". It allows me to press "OK" and move or copy it, but is very
annoying. Any ideas how to stop the message from popping up everytime?
