Excel 97 Question (Pivot tables)

Hi,

I'm trying to analyse large amounts of data in Excel 97 and one of the
features I'm using is pivot tables.

Suppose I have four columns labelled a,b,c,d where in construction of
the pivot table I assign a to the rows, b to the columns, c to be the
data and d to be the page variable.

Now I have more data than can fit directly under the headers a,b,c,d
(only 60000 or so rows are available). What I thus want to do is put
more data to the side, in four new columns with exactly the same
meaning as in the original columns. Basically I just need a way of
adding more data to the pivot tables.

At the moment I've tried creating an excel file for each set of 60000
or so matching pieces of data but this could take me days and I have to
compile the pivot and set the formulae etc. each time.

I'd be extremely grateful if someone could help me with this problem
and tell me how I can add more data to my pivot table.

The extra data would be similar sets as the first set of columns of data
but with different page fields.

You could put the data in a database or a .csv file and attach the pivot
table to it as external data. I regularly attached to data arrays of
300k rows in databases using Excel 97.
