How to remove page break lines in normal view?
 

After I did Print Preview and Close, the normal view of the spreadsheet
now shows the page breaks as dashed lines. How can I remove those
lines from the display?

I am using Office Excel 2003.

To remove page break lines from normal view in Excel 2003:

1. Open the Excel spreadsheet that has the page break lines showing in normal view.
2. Click on the "View" menu at the top of the screen.
3. From the "View" menu, select "Page Break Preview".
4. Once you are in Page Break Preview, you should see the page break lines as solid blue lines.
5. Click on the "View" menu again and select "Normal".
6. The page break lines should now be removed from the normal view of the spreadsheet.

To turn off page break lines from showing up in normal view in the futu

1. Click on the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen.
2. From the "Tools" menu, select "Options".
3. In the "Options" window, click on the "View" tab.
4. Under the "Window options" section, uncheck the box next to "Page breaks".
5. Click "OK" to save your changes.

That's it! The page break lines should no longer show up in normal view.

On the View tab, remove the check mark from 'Page Breaks'
Click OK

That did not work for me. As I noted, I was in normal view to begin
with. But before I posted my question, I did try selecting View
Normal View. I even tried toggling between Page Break Preview and
Normal View.

Bingo! That works. Thanks. It also works to close and reopen the
workbook; but that is less desirable.

Hmm, it appears that the Options View Page Breaks option is not set
when the workbook is opened, even if it was set when the workbook was
last saved. The option gets set automagically after I do Print Preview
:-(.
