Excel converting to a Winzip file when emailed

Hi,

I know this may be a email problem but am trying to emliminate all
possibilities.

When emailing various people (internal and external) an Excel
attachment, the message is sent but the attachment won't open and it
not a .xls file but a .zip file that won't open.

Has this happened to anybody, has anyone any ideas on how to resolve?

Thanks

I've never seen this.

You may want to share the email program that's sending the message and the email
program on the receiving end, too.

(maybe it's not excel--maybe it's the email program--or even the AntiVirus
program????)
