Why is workbook so slow opening?
I thought I had posted this late yesterday but wasn't able to find it.
I do a lot of work with an Excel workbook used to track workflow. The workbook is shared so that several people in the office can make and save changes. We are working in Excel 2000. We have noticed that since updating the workbook for 2005 that it is extremely slow opening. Like it is calculating or searching for something. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to open. But, it only does this when "shared" is on. If I turn it off the workbook opens fast like it should. I suspect there is some problem with sharing, but haven't been able to find any suggestions in help files or books, so I am asking here. I realy need to get this problem fixed. -- Carl Nielsen |
David McRitchie has a lot of notes about slow response at:
