When I sort a list, How can I keep blank rows between the fields?

We have a list from our school district that needs to have spaces inbetween
the typed in fields. When we add new prople to the list and try to sort it,
we can not get it to keep the spaces inbetween the names...help!

When I sort a list, How can I keep blank rows between the fields?

What is the need for the spaces between the records? Not knowing this I can
only suggest the following.

A: You could keep the spaces by having an extra column with an "X" or
something on each line including the spaced ones. Then sort the "X" field
first.

or
B: Increase (double) the Row Height like you do the column width.

Thanks, Kevin

Still the only option I see is to do one of my suggestions. Option B, you
could increase the row height & format the cells so your names print at the
top, leaving room below to sign. Goto Format Cells/Alignment/Vertical/Top.
With this you can sort as you do now.

Option A is too much maintenance.

Have you used Alt/Enter within a cell to have two (or more lines of
text within the cell?

Type a name, then hit Alt/Enter and the cursor will remain within the
cell and allow you to enter a line. You can also use Alt/Enter to add
blank space between the text. Copy that down the page, and go back to
add more names in any order. Then sort the list and there you are.
