Where is the closed folder button in Excel?

How come Word has separate Open and Closed file folder buttons whereas
Publisher & Excel do not? I miss the convenience.

Where is the closed folder button in Excel?

Could you be more specific? Exactly what buttons are you
referring to in Word and in Excel? What version are you talking
about?

If you are talking about the buttons on the toolbar just customise the
tool bar ...

Right click on the tool bar and select customise.
Select the 'Commands' tab and then select 'File' from the list
Drag and drop the Open and Close "buttons" onto the tool bar - Close
doesn't have a fancy icon but you can copy and paste any icon you wish
to see here.

I hope this helps.
