Drop Down Box that sorts

How can I make a drop-down box that will take a column of data and allow a
user to view only selected data.

Example: There are 6 Andys and 4 Bettys and 5 Tonys and 10 Gingers.

I want all of their names to appear but I want the option to just view the
selected names - as chosen from the drop down field like a sort.

I've tried Data Validation but I am missing something

Thanks in Advance

Data Filter AutoFilter........then select the name you wish to view in
the dropdown arrow at the top of that column........Data Filter
AutoFilter again to return all to normal......
