Can anyone tell me why auto filter in 1 spreadsheet with over 5,635 entries
shows all entries and why another spreadsheet with 1,026 entries only shows
some of the entries.

I know that the drop down limit is 1,000 but can't figure out why auto
filter shows all entries in 1 spreadsheet but not the other

One possibility is that there are probably "breaks" (empty rows) within the
table of data. Try this: Remove the autofilter, press CTRL+END to go to the
last used cell (bottom right), then re-select the entire table from that last
used cell/last row up, then re-apply the autofilter.

Thanks Max, but that didn't work. I'm absolutely stumped at this point

Not sure .. perhaps there's some data inconsistencies? Eg: some "numbers"
within the keyfilter col are not real numbers but text numbers. This would
apply to cols with "dates" as well, as real dates are just numbers. Assuming
the keyfilter col is not a formulas col, on a spare copy of the 1,026 entries
sheet, try selecting the entire keyfilter col, then click Data Text to
Columns Finish. This might suffice to convert all text numbers in the col
to real numbers (and convert text dates to real dates).

If the above doesn't do it .. perhaps post some examples of the data that's
within the keyfilter col, and explain how are you auto-filtering it.

Hang around awhile. Perhaps others would also offer their insights here
