log scale

I would like to have the horizontal axis displayed in a log scale. This
option ios not showing up in the format axisa dialog box. It does showw up in
the vertical axis.

This is a standard line chart.

I have excell 2000

There are no negative numbers in the horizontal axis.

Any idea why the log scale option is not showing up.
Thanks

Matt:

It sounds like you are using a line chart. Excel line charts use categorical
values for X axis, not numeric values. Even though your data looks like
numbers, the line chart treats them as text.

Change your chart type to an XY (Scatter) chart, then the log scale will be
available on X axis.

Right click chart, select chart type, the XY (Scatter).
