specify date source for x-axis (adjacent to data column in Excel)
MS Excel 2002: From a column of dates and an adjacent column of dollar
values, how do I specify the dates in the first column as the source of dates displayed on the x-axis of a related chart (in another worksheet in the same workbook)? The plotted dollar data shows correctly but the dates on the x-axis start at 1/1/00 rather than the dates in the data worksheet. |

Make sure that there are no blank cells in the column of dates, and that the
dates not only look like dates to a human observer, but are interpreted as numerical dates by Excel. (Excel uses 1, 2, 3, etc. along the X axis if the category labels or values are non-numerical. In date terms, Excel starts with day 1 at 1-Jan-1900, or 1/1/00.) - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services - Tutorials and Custom Solutions - http://PeltierTech.com/ 2006 Excel User Conference, 19-21 April, Atlantic City, NJ http://peltiertech.com/Excel/ExcelUserConf06.html _______ "retired general" <retired wrote in message ...
