how do i make a "dashboard style" chart (semi circle & pointer)
 

I have been asked to make a chart that looks like a car's odometer. I have
looked in both excel and illustrator cs. I am lost€¦
I know the basics of chart making (lines bars and standard pie) this
particular shape eludes me€¦

Any help would be most appreciated!!
