Experts,
I am using MS Office Excel 2003 SP1 Pro edition on XP Pro SP2. I have 8 lines of data that I would like to display on a Line-Column chart with 6 of the series as bars and the other two as lines. When I use the wizard it defaults to 4 bars and 4 lines. I have tried to Format Data Series to change the style but I can't see how to do this. Is there a way of User Defining which Series are displayed in which format? Kind regards, Paul |

Hi,
It's not a format option as such. You need to change the chart type. Start by creating a normal column chart. Select one of the series you want formatted as Line and right click. From the popup menu pick Chart Type and select the appropriate Line chart style. Repeat for the other series. Hi Andy,
Thanks for the message. I have treid your suggestion but when I choose Chart Type/Custom Types/Line-Column it still defaults to 4 bars and 4 lines. Do you have any further suggestions? What I meant was don't use the custom chart type at all. Start with a
standard column chart based on all you data. Then select a series and change its chart type to line. Sorry if that wasn't how you read it. Lancer940 wrote: Hi Andy, Thanks for the message.
