XY Chart Labeler Error Message

I have v6.23 of the XY Chart Labeler loaded. Using the Manual Labeler
feature, I type a text label in the window "Enter or Select a Label:" , press
enter, and get the following error: Unable to set the Text property of the
Data Label class. Can someone help me make this add-in work.
