defining major units on chart axis

Hi All

Does anybody know the formula that excel uses to create chart axis
parameters? I need to know how it defines the major unit and the maximum.
Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance

Nick

Hi Nick Turner,

I think Excel uses a small squirrel rolling dice to determine axis limits,
but
you can look here for a better explanation...

If you read this article carefully, you'll see that they explain how
Excel determines the max and min in terms of the major unit, but they
leave out any information about how the major unit is determined. That's
where Ed's squirrel comes in.
