secondary axis disappearing
hi all,
i have a chart with 2 secondary axis. i have noticed that when setting min / max and changeing to 'plot in reverse order' that an axis sometimes 'disappears' and after subsequent formatting, reappears. is there a reason or any logic in this? |
If you start with the default settings, the primary axes are below and
left of the chart, and the secondary above and right of the chart. Say you reverse the secondary Y axis values order. If you forget to uncheck the Category X Axis Crosses at Maximum box, the maximum is now at the bottom, and the primary axis already at the bottom blocks the secondary axis. Sometimes it only partially blocks it, and you can see tick labels from both axes, but that's rare. When the axis is blocked, you can't see it or click on it, and it disappears from the chart element dropdown in the Chart toolbar, but the respective series still obey its scale. Ramble: I wish there were a "Crosses at Minimum" setting. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com/ _______ philcud wrote: hi all, i have a chart with 2 secondary axis. i have noticed that when setting min / max and changeing to 'plot in reverse order' that an axis sometimes 'disappears' and after subsequent formatting, reappears. is there a reason or any logic in this? |
