Chart and Data Problem
Hello
I have a problem. For my work, I compile staff absence spreadsheets with the following columns. Name Department Month Reason. What I want to do is create a chart for each month based on the department data (eg. a pie chart for January may show two thirds of the area being 'IT Department' and one third may say 'Personnel Department'. How would I do that ? Regards Jonathan |

It sounds like you'll have to create a pivot table with a pivot chart to do
this. See http://www.allaboutoffice.co.uk/expivot.htm for details. The pivot table can count the number of instances of each department and then if you select only the month you require you can use a pie chart pivot chart to display that data.
