Fit bell curve to histogram
I have created a histogram of event frequencies (into numbered buckets e.g. 1-5, 5-10, 15-20, etc as x axis labels) using a barchart with zero gap width. I'd like to overlay these bars with a smooth curve showing the normal (bell shaped) distirbution of these frequencies around their mean. Any ideas how to do that? -- cwinters ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cwinters's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=18386 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=378649 |

One way is to create a combination chart by adding a data series as the XY (Scatter) chart type to your currrent Column chart type. And one way of creating the combo chart is described in a write-up on the Better Histogram page at www.treeplan.com. But that write-up only uses the XY series to get a better horizontal axis. You can substitute normal density values using NORMDIST for that dummy series to show a bell-shaped curve. - Mike www.mikemiddleton.com "cwinters" wrote in message ...
