skipping data for a chart

Is it possible to make a chart from a spreadsheet and not use some of the
cells, i.e. data? Can you pick a range of data from cells that are not
contiguous?

If all of the data is in one column, select the data using the Control key to
select the discontinous data and plot

for data in different columns for example with A1:A4 and B8:B14
plot A1:A4 goto <chart<sorce data<Series
select the values with the A1:A4
at the endenter a comma and select the B8:B14 cells
the chart should now show a single data set showing A1:A4 and B8:B14 as a
single series.
