How do I disable automatic chart creation in Excel?
When using the insert chart buttons, specifically XY scatter, Excel
automatically plots my entire dataset. I do not want this to happen with large datasets b/c I need to manually delete all the entires. Is there a way to prevent excel from automatically plotting the entire data set and instead let me define the plot manually? Thanks |

To get a chart with no data at all, select an empty cell that also has
no adjacent cells that contain data. To get a chart with a limited subset, select the cells you want in the chart before creating the chart.
