How to format elapsed time for swimming scores
 

I'm trying to graph times for my son's swimmin team for each person
by event and by date so we can show progress over time. When I use the time
fomat I end up with an AM or PM after the time. I don't want this - only
elapsed time.

Instead of the formats within the Time option, try using the Custom option.
In the Format Axis dialog box - Number tab, select the Custom option.
Either select or type into the "Type" input area:

mm:ss
