Eliminate "white space" at edge of area chart data series

I have a stacked area chart, and while the data is plotted just fine, to the
left and right of the plotted data series, is "white space" (looks like my
area chart has cliff on either side).

Any way to make the area chart fill in the space between the Y axis, and the
right side of the plot area?

Thanks!

Answer: Eliminate "white space" at edge of area chart data series

Hi Patk,

To eliminate the "white space" at the edge of your area chart data series, you can adjust the chart's plot area. Here are the steps to follow:
  1. Select your area chart by clicking on it.
  2. Right-click on the chart and select "Format Plot Area" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the "Format Plot Area" pane that appears on the right side of the screen, under the "Fill & Line" tab, select "Solid fill" and choose a color that matches your chart's background color.
  4. Under the "Border" tab, select "No line" to remove the border around the plot area.
  5. Click "Close" to apply the changes.

This should fill in the space between the Y axis and the right side of the plot area, eliminating the "white space" around your data series.

Hi,

xl2003. Double click X axis and on Scale tab uncheck Value (Y) axis crosses
between categories.

xl2007. Right click X axis Format Axis. Axis Options Position Axis:
On tick marks.

Cheers
Andy

That was almost "painfully" simply. Thanks Andy!
