Hi,
Do you mean three horizontal bands? If so, you need to add three series to your chart as a stacked area chart. See Jon Peltier's and Andy Pope's Excel pages. Dave "Bald Eagle" wrote: Is there a way to insert three different colours into the plot area background? |

Hi,
You only need to add two series, because for the remainder you can set the Plot Area color. Suppose your data looks like this: (really just the first two columns) Month Values V1 V2 Jan 20 33 33 Feb 9 33 33 Mar 19 33 33 Apr 84 33 33 May 85 33 33 Jun 79 33 33 Jul 11 33 33 Aug 74 33 33 Sep 23 33 33 Oct 18 33 33 Nov 60 33 33 Dec 42 33 33 1. Add two additional columns, in this case my max value for the data is 100 and I wanted to divide the chart at 33 and 66. 2. Plot the whole data set. 3. On the chart select the line that represents on of the 33 series. 4. Choose Chart, Chart Type, and Stacked Area (2nd subtype) 5. Select the other 33 line on the chart and press F4. 6. You can remove the series from the legend by clicking the legend, then clicking the name of the series in the legend and pressing Del. 7. Format each series with the desired color 8. Right-click the plot area, choose Format Plot Area and set the color you want. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button Cheers, Shane Devenshire "Bald Eagle" wrote: Is there a way to insert three different colours into the plot area background? |
