Do not sort data alphabetically in a Pivot table
I entered employee names in a worksheet, along with hours worked on projects.
When I create the pivot table it rearranges the names alphabetically. Is there a way to keep the names in the same order I entered them in, instead of alphabetically? The names are in senority order and need to stay that way. Thanks. |
Do not sort data alphabetically in a Pivot table
Hi,
Yes - 1. If necessary create a list of the names in the order you want them, you may be able to use the pivot table source, if they are not repeated there. 2. Select this list and choose Tools, Options, Custom List, Import, OK. 3. In the Pivot table select the field you want sorted, anywhere in it, and choose Data, Sort, Options, Open the First key sort order drop down and find you list of names. Select it and click OK twice. If this helps, please click the Yes button. -- Thanks, Shane Devenshire "Denise" wrote: I entered employee names in a worksheet, along with hours worked on projects.
