what are the bubbles that appear when I click on my spreadsheet
 

I am working with an excel spreadsheet that is updated weekly by email.
sometimes it slows to the point of a standstill. I am wondering if the
patterned bubbles are part of the problem. Regardless, how do I get rid of
them im my spreadsheet?
