Timeline Chart, but not a Gantt

Hi, I want to make a stacked bar chart with the following data:

Tasks Start Date End Date Duration
Phase I 01-Jul-08 01-Mar-09 243
Phase II 01-Jul-08 01-Jul-10 730
Phase III 01-Jan-10 01-Mar-10 59
Phase IV 01-Jul-09 01-Jul-11 730

The Y axis are dates, at monthly intervals. It is supposed to start with
July '08 and ending with July '11.

I have hidden the axis labels for X (the phase), but have put the data label
with the bar of each phase.

So, the graph has the dates along the top, and within the chart are
different color bars representing each phase. The phases are not dependent
upon each other.

The Problem:
On the chart at the left (where the lowest dates are) it Shows July 2008
twice. And, at the far right (where the highest dates are) it stops before
it reaches the end June (it should go to july). I have tried manually
changing the scale to set the start and end dates, but it doesn't change.

Also, because the chart has two July 1, 2008 values, this date is showing up
twice on the timeline scale.

AND, none of the bars are long enough. They end before they reach the date
the phase is to finish.

I'm betting I'm doing something fundamentally wrong with the chart. If
there are ideas about how I can fix it - I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks!
