how can you calulate the slope of a trend line
Hi Sue,
John Walkenbach shows all the equations here. http://j-walk.com/ss///excel/tips/tip101.htm You also may want to check out the TREND and FORECAST functions in the helpfile. Post back if you are having trouble applying them. Don't forget to include details of your data and what you are trying to achieve. HTH Martin "Sue" wrote in message ... If you have a trendline, you can right click on it, choose Format, and on
the Options tab, check Show Formula on Chart. Increase the decimals in the formula (use the Increase Decimals button or right click the formula, choose Format, and on the Number tab choose a Number format with lots of decimal places or a scientific format with lots of decimal places). Pick your slope from the modified formula. Or use the SLOPE worksheet function on the chart data in the worksheet to calculate the slope more directly. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Sue" wrote in message ...
