Trying to total the column values in my chart?

Hi !!
I am using the Stacked Column with a 3-d visual effect chart. I am
charting 6 months worth of numbers with 5 values in each column. I would
like to add up the totals in each column of my chart to make a heading (or
something). Can this be done?

Thanks !

Hi,

The last section of this page shows you how to add a total to a 3-d stack.

This is not readily accomplished in a chart with 3D effects. But that's
okay, because switching to a 2D chart can only improve the chart.

Make another series that represents the totals you want to display. Add this
data to the chart as a new series. At first this series will appear as a new
column stacked on the rest. Select it, go to Chart menu Chart Type, and
select a Line chart style to change this series. Double click this series,
and on the Data Labels tab, choose the Values option, then on the Patterns
tab, select no lines and no markers. Click OK, then double click on the
labels, and on the Alignment tab, choose Above from the position dropdown.
