i am trying to create a graph where i can plot a data series, but also show a
min and a max line as a range. For example I dont want my data series to go
above or below a certain number and i want to see easily on a graph when the
data series has gone above or below that range. any help would be great!

thanks!

Plot *three* data series, one consisting of your data, another your min
value repeated down the column, and the third your max value repeated
also.

Iceddia,
As Del said, just put your lower limit in one column, your data in another
column, and your upper limit in the last column.
Select all three columns, use the graphing wizard.
Label the limits and you should be happy with the results.

iCEDDIA:

To add a line, you need two points.

This post shows you how to add a horizontal line with 2 sets of XY values (4
data points).

http://processtrends.com/pg_charts_horizontal_line.htm

This approach lets you add lines where you want without having to add
columns to your data set. A similar approach can be used for vertical lines.
