Pivit table- cell on spread sheet referencing pivot table field
 
With the old version of excel you could use the mouse to do a calculation
between a cell in a pivottable and one just on a cell in the spreadsheet.- Is
there a way of turning of the cell reference in Office XP etc- e.g from
outside the pivot table go +a5, where A5 is a cell in the pivot.

There are instructions here for adding the Generate GetPivotData button
to a toolbar, and toggling the feature on and off:
