Secondary y-axis for certain x-axis categories (not by series)
Hi:
I have the data set up similar to this: Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 A 1 1.5 0.8 B 5 3.2 2.5 C 4 6.7 4 D $35 $20 $56 E $42 $36 $29 I want to put all three series into one bar chart with categories A, B, C, D, E across the x-axis. I want to have 2 y-axes, one for categories A, B, C and one for categories D & E. However, when I use the "Secondary Axis" option, it seems to only allow me to choose a series (Group 1, Group 2, or Group 3) for the secondary axis. Is there a method to use the Secondary Axis feature wtih x-axis categories (and not with a data series)? Thank you! ~SonzAMonz |

You need to make the chart "by rows" so that the categories are Group1,
Group2, & Group 3 Then the data series are A thru D But one needs an extra step using secondary axis with column charts: see http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/...OnTwoAxes.html best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme www.stfx.ca/people/bliengme remove caps from email "SonzAMonz" wrote in message ... You need two series then for each group. For instance,
Group 1 Low Group 1 High etc. A 1 B 5 C 4 D $35 E $42 Then move the "High" series to the secondary axis. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "SonzAMonz" wrote in message ...
