Black Prints as Grey/Gray
 

I have rather simple bar charts comparing data for this year vs. last year.

On my monitor this year is colored black and last year a medium grey.

When I print the charts, the black prints as a medium grey and the medium
grey prints as white.

How can I get black to print black and grey to print grey?

You might try choosing File, Page Setup, Sheet tab, check Black and White.
The problem here is that this is often printer specific. A second option
would be to choose File, Print and click the Properties button and see if
your printer has any options for this.
