Can I select Multiple Items in a Chart

I have a simple Bar Chart, and can't seem to figure out if there is a
way to select, say 5 of the bars and apply color formatting to those 5
all at once. I can select all, and then on the next mouse click, I
can select an individual bar, but in holding down the CTRL, SHIFT, and
ALT keys, I cannot seem to select mutiple items. Is this possible?
Maybe I am trying to group them for formatting purposes.

Thanks,
Brooks

Answer: Can I select Multiple Items in a Chart

Hi Brooks,

Yes, it is possible to select multiple items in a chart in Excel. Here's how you can do it:
  1. Click on one of the bars in the chart to select it.
  2. Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click on the other bars you want to select. You should see all the selected bars highlighted.
  3. Once you have selected all the bars you want to format, you can right-click on one of the selected bars and choose "Format Data Series" from the context menu.
  4. In the Format Data Series pane that appears on the right side of the screen, you can choose the "Fill & Line" tab to change the color of the bars.
  5. Make your desired formatting changes and click "Close" when you're done.

That's it! You should now have multiple bars selected and formatted with your desired color.

Can I select Multiple Items in a Chart

Hi,

You can select All or 1.
In non 2007 you can make use of the F4 button.
Select the first individual bar and format it. Move to the next bar and
press F4 to apply same formatting.

Cheers
Andy
