dual x-axis problem
Hi,
I'm trying to get dual x-axis for multiple sets of data (same x values). the data would be of the form: wavelength energy transmission 300 =[Simple formula using wavelength] 100 310 =[Simple formula using wavelength] 85 .. .. .. essentially I'm after a chart that uses columns A & B as the x data and plots C against it as the y-data. However, as A is increasing, B is decreasing so this seems to make things more difficult! Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do this in excel? Dear god I need professional) help! dual x-axis problem
Do you mean you want two series, one using A as X and C as Y, the other
using B as X and C as Y? Select the data in A, hold Ctrl and select the corresponding data in C, and make an XY chart. Copy the data in B and C, select the chart, and use Edit menu Paste Special, and add the data as a new series, categories in first column. If you need different scales for the X values, double-click one series, and on the Axis tab, choose Secondary. This gives you a secondary Y axis because of Excel's lack of imagination. Go to Chart menu Chart Options Axes tab, check the secondary X axis box, and uncheck the secondary Y axis box. That will be 5¢, please. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com _______ <David Hall wrote in message news:200742611315technical_overlord@beerandanvils. co.uk...
