Can I combine a stacked bar with regular bars on the same chart?
 

I am trying to create a chart, a vertical bar graph, but would like the first
bar to be a "stacked bar" (reflecting a combination of two bits of data) and
then the rest just a single bar representing the single bit of data. Is
there a way to do that?

Hi,

If you plot two series as stacked bar, where the data for 1 series only
contains a value for the first point you will get the chart you describe.

I'm having a similar problem. I have three series of data. The first series
needs to be regular columns, while the other two need to be stacked. They
are all on the same scale, so I don't think I need to use two axes.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi,

You can use 2 axes without using 2 scales.
Move the data series to the secondary axis and the select the secondary
axis and delete it. This will force the data series to use the same
scaling as the primary axis but it will still be held on the secondary axis.

Thanks Andy. The problem I'm having is that the stacked columns are in front
of the non-stacked one, but what I need is the stacked column to be next to
the other column.

Do you have a suggested fix?

For now, I've converted it to a line-column chart, but that is not the way
the boss wants to present it.
