Carry on chart into future
Hi All,
I have a line chart (number 4 of the subtype of chart) based on data from a spreadsheet (Excel 2000), it shows a sales figure vs year for the last ten years, the figures go up every year and basically the growth starts off reasonably slowly and then picks up faster over the last few years. Can i make the chart plot future values based on the previous values. I know there are formula such as forecast that i can use but this tends to the 'straight line' approach and ideally i don't want the actual values on the spreadsheet anywhere, i just want the line on the graph to carry on for X number of years in the same way as the actual data shown. Is this possible? Thanks for any help you can give..... |
Carry on chart into future
Add a trendline, using the Exponential option from the Type tab, and on the
Options tab, choose a number for Foreward Forecast. If you want to make predictions for actual time points, as opposed to extending a line of best fit, you will need to use the worksheet to make calculations. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Emma Hope" wrote in message ...
