Answer: how to enter text inside the bars on a bar chart in Excel?

Steps to enter text inside the bars on a bar chart in Excel:
  1. Create your bar chart by selecting the data you want to use and clicking on the "Insert" tab in the ribbon. Then, choose the "Bar" chart type you want to use.
  2. Once your chart is created, click on one of the bars to select it. You should see a small box appear around the bar.
  3. Right-click on the selected bar and choose "Add Data Labels" from the context menu that appears.
  4. You should now see labels appear on each of the bars in your chart. To edit the text of a label, simply click on it and start typing.
  5. If you want to format the text of your labels, you can do so by selecting the label and then using the formatting options in the "Home" tab of the ribbon.

That's it! You should now have text inside the bars on your bar chart in Excel.

Double click the series, Data Labels tab, select relevant options. This
provides one of several standard labels, and you can select a label and type
your own. If you want to add custom labels more easily, try one of these two
add-ins, both well designed, easy to install and use, and free:

If required, select the Legend Key to display the legend color associated to
that Data series value.
4. Click OK
The chart displays the Series name and the Values names at each data poins
in the line - Which ever chart type you select.
5. Click on the series name in the chart, a rectangle box displays.
6. Enter text inside the box. The entered text is only for display purpose.
These data series are not stored in the excel sheet. This is done to give
more meaning to the graphics for better understanding.

Note: If you change to a different chart type, you may loose the entered
text, and then you have follow step 5 to step 6 again.
