Excel Rejects Chart Scale Changes

I make changes to max and min values under scale, but Excel does not make the
changes. Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions?

When you close the dialog box, do you click the OK button?
If you close with the X, the changes won't be saved.

Also, when you change the values in the text boxes, don't check the Auto boxes in
front of them.

(I only bring this up because I have actually seen someone unable to change scales
because they changed the value, then checked the box.)
