Vertical lines
 

I know I have asked this question before, but I simply cannot make it work. I
have tried coying my data into Peltier's VertizontalLine.zip but still I do
not get the proper result. I can do it with Peltier's data but when I want to
delete the secondary x-axis with my data, the data gets wrong, and if I keep
the secondary axis the line is not in the correct place. I would have liked
to send my file, but I can't see that that is an option, so instead I send
you my data if that is any help. I have this type of data quite often so it
would be a great help if I could make the vertical lines work. Thanks

I use Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003

Here are my data from Aug. 05 till Aug 06, and I want the vertical lines in
October 05, Jan. 06 and Feb. 06.

Why not make the lines with error bars.
Assuming you want the maximum y value to be 2000, use custom error bars
pointing to cells with values:
Positive: =2000 - (y-value)
Negative: =(y-value)

Hi,

I think the problem is related to the fact your dates are monthly not
daily. Also exactly why this should be a problem I don't know.

It appears that when you delete the secondary x axis instead of the
xy-series using the existing column series value the chart thinks the
date value maximum date is "01/07/5136".

Very weird.

You might be better of using a category rather than time series axis.
